It is absolutely necessary to use a drier in "fast" technique. You
have to dry the painting completely in order to be able to summarize and finish
the details. Watercolors do not work over wet color. Temper preparation creates
a "bumpy" effect on the paper ("sandpaper effect"). Watercolor
looks nice on such a surface.
