  4. oiling out question

Hi all! If a painting hasn't been touched in a few years and you want to go back into it, should you oil it out and let it rest a few days or just go over it lightly with turps and then jump right in? Mostly I just want to glaze a few areas if that makes a difference. Thanks ks

Is the Dead UnderLayer basically a grisaille? I kow that the combination of paints are not just Ivory Black and Flake White, but rather a mixture of colors which still are producing a grey scale painting.
