"A few I've had on the easel..."

I've had quite a few drawings on the go at once lately, over the christmas holidays so I haven't posted my own stuff for a while. though I have been loving the amount of work being shown here these days.
This first one is my brother when he was about 15 months old, mum loved his expression...

8x11, using 2B-2H, done in, well actually at this point it's not finished as I'll go right down to his hands but this much took me about 9 hours over a long span of time.

This is me at around 2 years, mum wants one of all her kids at this age...
I used B to 2H graphite pencils
This took me about 14 hours
Any comments, suggestions would be great.

Jess, these are beatiful, especially the drawing of you!

The last one is in rgb mode? Does your scanner put that yellow tone in it or is it because of the pencils? That kind of yellow tone would look pretty nice in the actual drawing

Hey Jess.
I really like these two drawings, your style really lends itself to illustrations. Any Childrens books in the future? I think your drawings would look great in book form.

Peace!

Jess these are as always great but the second one of you really stands out ,the painfull hours sure did pay off,.....i like to shade the same way you do with a 2H in the light areas .

That hair is so good i have to know your secret..is that pencil point /blended or a little of both?...its hard to make hair look that realistic in full light,...the one im doing now has a lot of it.....im hoping it comes out this good.

I've seen the first one before, but I don't remember the one of you. They're both really good, but I especially like the one of you--great job! Yes, the hair is wonderful, too.

Jess, you've done a great job with these portraits.
I love the expression on your brothers face!
What technique did you use on the hair?

He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist.

Jess, I love your style. Especially in the first one. It is very painterly. The way your expressed the lighting seems very unique to me. PENNY
