It would make things a lot easier for us to know what help to give if you could be a little more specific. :)

Thanks

i think it would help the hair some if you cleaned out some highlights in it, and added contrast to make it look more realistic. the face on both the man and woman are very well drawn.

Hi Foxy ,
If you posted a copy of the source photo it would help , you have done a very good job up to now , in my opinion you need to add darker values to bring these portraits to life, dont be scared go for it you'll be glad when you do , i know as i was making the same mistake until the guys here put me right, what pencils have you used here ?

Colin.

I think the picture is looking great so far. I agree with some of the previous posts, that some darker values need to be added. On the mother's jaw line a touch of charcoal or softer pencil should be added to the lower right edge, much like you have done with Dad. Blend the darker value so that it looks like a shadow rather than a line. I also suggest that you darken the shadow on her neck on the left side. As it is, the lighter value you have suggests that light is being somehow reflected there to lighten the shadow. Again, the shadow on his left side looks less flat as the dark part blends nicely toward the lighted side.

Concerning the necklace, perhaps you could post a reference photo so that we can see what you are working with?

Nice work. I like the way you rendered the suit and tie, too.

At this stage I can't think of any thing to add to everyone elses comments I notice you tried to put up the refrence photo but it doesnt seem to have worked, having the reference photo would help some as a guide to what it is you are having problems with.

On the whole so far though it looks good. I would defontely put some extra tone around the womans jawline to separate it from her neck, at the moment the tones are very similar and blend one into the other.
