"Marilyn (WIP)"

I put here my latest attempt. This helps me also see how the drawing goes on a jpeg mode. This time I try to put all my efforts to make drawing look like the reference, or better. I dont know if this is possible to me at the moment. The ref is good, so I believe I will make it pretty close. Right now Ive just put there the basetone, details and focus havent been adjusted yet.

I bet everybody has sometimes thought "Hmm.. I wonder how would marilyn go without a hair.."

This is looking really good. I was trying to find a really nice clear picture of marilyn , my fiance wants me to draw her. Could you let me know where you got this pic? It looks fantastic, cant wait to see the hair!

Looks fantastic! The only difference I see compared to the ref. pic is the level of contrast.

You are so talented!!!

Thank you

That drawing is amazing so far. I like the drawing better than the picture. I like how you get the skin tones so good. When I do skin tones they tend to be flat to me.

What do you blend the face tones with and do you use harder lead pencils to start the tones?

For face tones Ive use HB-2B. Then I blend it very much. Lately Ive been using Blu-tack also in the early stages of drawing to find the highlite spots.

Jenni, the reference photo is not actually the best in the world but drawable. Use google to find large pictures of Marilyn.

Ok now its time to finish it. I hope itll be ready in about 12 hours from now. Thanks.

It's looking really good so far. I agree with dhesse, that the only difference is the contrast, just needs to be a little darker in the darker areas.
