"Need a group hug..."

... well it has been a week or so sense I even checked the site. The day before New Years Eve my husband told me he was leaving. He will be moving his things out tomorrow. 17 years, 15 married (November 27, 1987). I can't even think of picking up a pencil right now. Part of me says it's therapy and part of me just can't.
A very, very sad and depressed Steph

Steph
You are also in my thoughts and prayers, and any time at all if you need someone to talk to or just need an ear to listen please email me.
I'm so sorry that this is happening to you.
I wish I could also give you a hug.

Hi Steph,

I truely am sorry to hear this news. I was in a similar situation to you almost three years ago and I can understand how desvistated, confused and lost you must feel.

I know it is difficult but try to focus on your needs and those of your children right now. They will need you more than ever at the moment as their world will have falledn apart also and they too will feel exactly the same way you do. Try to make sure they realise it is not their fault. As they try to get to grips with the enormity of the situation they will rationalise the problem in the best way they know, unfortunately this often leads to self blame and a lot of anger.

Talk to people, talking helps enormously, please don't internalise your feelings it only makes things worse.

I obviously don't know the cercumstances of your separation but my partner was depressed which led to our separation. If you are in a similar situation, pm me, and I will give you the address of an excellent support group.

I know it is a clich'e but time really does heal, take each day one day at a time and keep posting.

(((((((((((((((((((hug)))))))))))))))))))))))

My thoughts are with you Stephanie. I can't say I know what you're going through right now, but I have a pretty good idea what your kids are feeling (my parents split up when I was young). You will all get through this, though, it just takes time. And keep drawing! . . . it really will help. I am going through the loss of my job of 19 years right now, and my drawing really has become a very helpful sort of therapy for me.

Keep in touch.

Bill

Iīm really sorry to hear that Steph. I havenīt been in that situation, although once broke my heart (which was my own fault), but I think Bill is right saying that drawing helps, at least it takes mind off sad and bad things for awhile.
I wish all the best to you.

JL

Steph, I am so very sorry. Life sure likes to throw things at ya when you least expect it! At times like these we usually tend to surprise ourselves with our own strength.

I have no idea what it is like for you, or your situation, but I do know you have some people here at Artpapa who will help in any way and give you as many hugs as you need!

You are a terrific artist! Don't stop drawing, it is very therapeutic and comforting.

Thank you
D.L. Hesse

Sorry to hear that you're going through a rough time to Yvan.
I'll be praying for you too.
