"sandra bullock,in pencil,and wood"
 |
1st id like to say thanks to portrait_artist for showing me how important using 'black' is to your drawing,i love that ebony jet black,..and i found out that a '4 h',the kind without the wood around it works almost as good. for months ive been trying to draw using only one mechanical drawing pencil,..and all i proved was that no matter how much time you put into a drawing,..everything will turn to mud, sort of like painting a picture only using the color brown. i was afraid of adding to much tone to the skin,..but after adding a good black pencil to the areas that are black in the photo,..the skin tone that you make with a 2b,(hard pencil) will practically disapear,as a matter of fact,..you will feel like you need to add more darkness to the skin tone to make it show up. ive learned more in 2 weeks at this site then i could have learned 2 years on my own,..and im very thankfull to everyone that has helped me. but anyhow ,im going to try to bring in a pencil drawing of sandra bullock..with a close up...plus a very ugly woodburning of her that i also done. in her hair eyes and every place i seen black or VERY dark,..i used a 4b and ebony jet black extra smooth,..and a 2b for the skin,...and some other pencil that was a little darker...for things in the skin that i couldnt get dark enough with the 2b. this drawing is FAR from being a master peice,..but its a HUGE difference from what i was doing when i 1st came here
