"self portrait wip"
I am only a few hours into this one, but this is a drawing I am doing of my wife and I. The scanner took a little of the detail away (ie. the teeth). Comments are welcome
This is a nice start, great foundation to build on. It looks like a night shot with a lot of flash. It's ok to soften those bright highlights in the nose and forehead areas. Af, this drawing is at a point where you can really bang it out or you can settle in and start building tones. adding graphite layers at a time. it's your call!

Really good start, especially with the eyes and hair. Do you have an update you can show us?

Duke, yeah I'm still in the Air Force, I work at Tinker AFB. But back to the drawing. I darkened up my face and made my wife's darker as well, but for some reason no matter how I set up the scanner it doesn't show all the shading in the skin tones, you can hardly tell my wife has a bottom lip, but here is the latest and greatest....so far.
Eric, Great work can't wait to see it when it's done. hinddee
