So true. The first place winner was...shall i say...different? What was up with that portrait? And what was it? A child with her tongue sticking out? Oh well. Congrats to you also. It may not mean a thing to place but my ego went up 1 whole notch.

Bls: Yep, its always nice to get positive feedback. By the way, how many competitors do you think there is monthly? Does this mean I am the second worst of the race? By the way, 5th seems to be a finn also..

Congratulations to all winners from me also. I´m going to take part this month also, but it seems that I´m going steady downhill ´cause last time I was 4th, now 5th, so next time I´ll probably be... .
But it really would be interesting to know how many participants there is each month, as this net-drawers group seems to be quite small.
Oh, and by the way, if anyone is interested about my pictures, they are in http://www.starving-artists.net/ .
( Hei vaan!

PS. Tunnet vissiin kyrön hlökoht? nätti tyttö

PS2. My apologies about all these finnish words, folks. Hope this doesnt confuse you too much. Next time the language I use is english..

Ok here it is almost done. Please help I don't know what to do with the background. It may look like there is a slight one but there isn't. It is the digital image lighting. Also the original has much more detail on the shirts. But for now I woould just like comments on the overall portrait and what I should do with the background if anything.

Beautiful work, Bobby. I don't have any formal art training, but I say go without the background. The vignette appearance of your drawing is very balanced and pleasing to me. Also, adding much of a background might make the drawing look too busy and take away from what this drawing is all about anyway. Just my $.02

Well thank you Bill. I was heading in that direction, but I always think I need to have one for some rease. I guess I jsut don't think it's done with out it. Then I usually overwork it and it looks like it is too much...(see other portraits on 1st page). If I don't add any background at all it will be a first for me. I hope I can handle it.

Nice work Bobby! I really like the eyes on both.

I think I would probably stray away from putting a background in this piece too.

Shelby
