"'Old Man"
This is a portrait that was completed back in '93 I worked on it for along time. Probably longer that I needed to. I tend to be a perfectionist (when It comes to drawing) and have a hard time putting the pencil down unless it's absoulutely perfect. The problem arises when I spend too much time on one piece. I love the work of all the other talented artisits here. Keep up the great work! Of course all comments and suggestions are welcomed. P.S. In case anyone is wondering, everything I draw is graphite/charcoal on "white" bristol or similar kinds of drawing paper. Sometimes people ask if I draw on black paper with white pencils. "Hmm, I never thought of that".
Cheers! R.C. Dominguez

Rob, those dark tones are suberb! You really have put lots of effort to make it dark. I liked especially wrinkles around his mouth. You really have quite unique style, do you always put black background behind?
wow! this is something else! And what an intensity and expression... beautiful!
I can't wait to see more!

Hey MHK, thanks for the kind words. I do enjoy a dark background with my portraits. I learned a while ago that the human eye is naturally attracted to dark colors. For me, it's something I have alsways done from the begining, so it must REALLY be attracting my attention. But, I am making an effort to draw some portraits with a lighter background just to see what they look like. P.S. I went to your site. Nice work! Cheers! R.C.D.

Hi Linda, Thanks for your comments. I will be posting my latest in a few weeks titled "Old Lady" I think an incomplete version of her is in this forum somewhere. It's just taking a really long time. Mostly because every square inch of her face is littered with wrinkles. And god knows I love those wrinkles. Lol Cheers! R.C.D.
No, its not up & running yet. Actually the designer is working on it right now, I'm aiming for March so that it's in place before I go to art shows in the spring. I'm a newbie to the art business so I'm on a steep learning curve. I don't even have a business name yet - help!
