"please help me"

This is one of the pictures that I am having so much trouble with. Please keep in mind that the eyes are a lot darker in the original , the flash has made them reflect , looking alot lighter than normal. It's only a work in progress but I just don't know where I am going wrong. Please help

I think this is looking great! I am not sure where you are at but you might want to add some more constrast by darkening the darkest areas. Adding freckles will totally change the look also. I just experienced that with my latest drawing.

Your shading gradation is done very well...nice and smooth!

Thank you

Thanks for your advice. I've done what you said and it's helped a lot. This is my next door neighbours son. I took the picture over to her and let her pick out what she thought was "wrong" with it and then worked on it some more. I also lowered his top lip and darkened it , it made a huge difference. I followed your advice also and took it back over there and both her and her husband just looked at it and said perfect! They love it.
So it is now sprayed and finished !
phew! after 5 attempts its good to be done with it

Thanks again for your advice.
