"I think I'm getting it back!"

Well guys its not perfect , far from perfect in fact , but its a lot better than the last few pictures I have done.
Please keep in mind that the flash from my digi camera takes alot of the shading away , and the hair is just ............. well ........... I need lots of practice with blonde hair! (thats why i chose this pic to draw).
I slowed down alot, this was done over 3 days. I'm happy with the face , especially after a few of the pics I have drawn lately.

This is so beautiful!!! Just add all more detail, not shading, to the hair now. I hope I'm making sense. It's hard to explain.

It's beautiful.

Hi Jenni, I've been trying to find something wrong with this drawing but I give up. Oh wait . . . the left pupil (her right) is not quite perfectly round. There, I found something. Seriously, this is a fantastic drawing. I really can't think of anything to suggest that might improve it. I wouldn't really recommend adding much more detail to the hair (maybe a little). I think it really fits in with the rest of the drawing just like it is. You got it back (I don't think you really ever lost it).

thanks guys, but I owe it all to you. Everyone's advice in the message that I posted about needing help was what helped me out so much. Plus all the positive feedback I recieved for the "best pic I've ever done" topic.
In the original picture the iris of the eye is so dark that you can't see the pupil. Unfortunately because the pupil is done in charcoal and the iris in graphite , the graphite reflected the light from the flash of the camera. So when I touched up the charcoal bits I couldnt really make it out because it was so dark. But thanks for pointing that out, I must be more careful next time.

As for me not losing it , trust me , I really did ! I was finishing pictures in 3 hours so you can imagine what they looked like. Then even when I tried slowing down , it just wouldnt work!

Anyhow thanks for all the kind comments , I look forward to posting my next piece!

You did a beautiful job on this! The blending is perfect!!!

2 words for doing hair....mechanical pencil! .3 and .5 with H and HB lead. I just started using them and man, oh, man do they make life easier when it comes to drawing hair!

Love this portrait!!!

Thank you

thanks for the kind words . I do use a mechanical pencil on the hair , it's the only way I can do hair LOL . Unfortunately the detail in the hair doesnt show up as good, a lot is lost in the flash from the digital camera. But I know what you mean exactly with the mechanical pencil, I love it for fine detail especially for doing hair.

Thanks again
Jenni
