"The best picture I've done so far"

This is the picture I was telling you guys about in my earlier post. I know its not perfect, nor anywhere near some of the standard of drawings in here, but it's the best picture I have drawn so far. I really feel I am expecting this to happen each time and trying too hard. I am going to follow the advice given to me in my earlier post and see what happens after christmas.

P.S The skin is alot darker in the original and the crease on the side of the face does not look as harsh.

Jenni, this is an OUTSTANDING drawing! Your technique is great, but what impresses me most is the feeling and mood that the picture conveys. What an expression! (which you nailed, by the way). This is not just a likeness, this is art. KEEP DRAWING!

I cannot put down in words how pumped I am for you! This is outstanding!

I've been watching your growth on this forum since you've joined. So much improvement. Please, please, please, understand that you will draw to the whatever level you choose. Be patient! this drawing proves it. Just keep trying new techniques and styles, you will find your way!

Wow! After looking as this drawing compared to your drawing of Bon Jovi, you've come a long way!
I really like the work you did here. You did a great job blending the tones is her face and her hair shows a lot of care and patience.
You also did a great job on her teeth. Many have told me that a person's teeth is one of the hardest things to draw. You nailed it here. Good job!
Any time I rush or look for short cuts, I end up erasing a lot. Be patient and take your time. You most certainly have talent. Just relax and have fun with it.

WOW, what a drawing! This is simply a great portrait!

I know what your talking about when you do something really well and then your next one stinks. I do it all the time and think "was it just a flook?" Anyway, this one is simply fabulous!Steph

wow! I can't believe all the great responses I've had to my message. I went away for christmas and just got back and I couldnt believe it when I saw all the responses.

Marc, after your advice last time I really slowed down and took my time with this piece and even I can see that it paid off. I just need to slow down with the rest of my work and see what happens. I appreciate you looking for that bon jovi pic and posting it next to this one , I never thought of doing that.

Of course recieving JD's book in that time also helped me ALOT. JD you are absolutely awesome and every time someone tells me that I'm good at it I tell them no, no I have a long way to go. I show them your work and then say " I wanna draw like this!!!"
My fiance makes fun of me when I say this , he calls your book my bible.
I really appreciate you leaving me feedback , it means a lot to me! Now all I need is your autograph and I'll have it all ! LOL

Again thanks alot everyone for the wonderful feedback , it has inspired me to take alot more care and patience.
I hope everyone had a great christmas !

Looking good mz maniac....sometimes what makes a better piece of art is the emotion in the painting or drawing...and you have captured that well.keep it up.
