"(FINISHED)W-I-P. keeping things clean"

Here is her all finished ..OR at least as much as im going to do ..im not sure if the pic will come in under this...or at the end....but the rest of this link just shows it in progress...and stuff.....christmas slowed me down on this one quite a bit......im looking for a newr photo of my self...im not really gung ho ' about doing a self portrait, but if i can find something ill give it a shot.
i had to do a lot of layers for her skin..it might have been ewasier with a darker pencil ,im not sure?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

here is one i just started on about 2 hours so far just the top of her head,i took other peoples advice on putting typing paper down as i go so i dont get it dirtys,im just working top to bottom,
this is strathmore 400 again..the medium 8o lb...im using an 8B cause it sticks better to this paper, the only other pencil im going to use is a 2H wich you can see i used on her skin some already..i dont have much done so far,,i actually should be getting some stuff done for tomorrow.
i want to stay up all night on this one but ill get in trouble if i show up late and "zombie'ish.
take care and Merry christmas.
after this is done im going to work on a self portrait even if i have to use one that isnt as recent.

Jim, This is really cool. At first glimpse, I thought it was a woodburning. You never cease to amaze me with your constantly new and always refeshing approach to drawing. You are an inspiration to all of us (at least me anyway). OK now, I'm off to get a couple more hours in on my Christmas portrait. Hopefully the FINISHED drawing will be posted sometime tomorrow night. Merry Christmas!

P.S. I hope you didn't get yelled at too bad.

Bill

this is gorgeous so far. ven thoughf i always try to work away from worked areas, i use paper underneath bc of oils on hands (maybe im just a greasy guy. having a toddler doesnt help).

one thing about this composition. maybe its just me, but i want to see the rest of her head. the job you have done one the hair is so beautiful, i am a little jarred to see it get cut off at the top.

keep it up. awesome technique.

thanks you guys,..a thumbs up from this forum means a LOT!
i did get to add to it some last night,...ill post where im at...along with an early work,..im not really ashamed of stuff i did in the past,..and as we all know, past drawings are great for reminding us of what happens from rushing too fast, etc, etc.
i actually had this old drawing on my website before i came to this forum, believe it or not.
i can still remember my 1st days of searching the internet right after i finally got the internet....the 1st time i clicked on mr hillberrys site i have to be honest ,i was actually mad at 1st,...i couldnt believe it.
i had no idea drawings like that were possible.
ill bet i didnt even draw for about 2 weeks after that.but thankfully i kept going back after i ordered his book cause i found this forum.,...and also by seeing the way other people work graphite it has made a believer out of me.

Abso, this hair is fabulous. You have also improved alot since that early drawing. I cannot understand how you do those dark values, I tried today make a dark background on my drawing and after total mess I gave up ;(

I think your doing a fantastic job!!! I like the hair. Are you blending or just hatching lines on the face?

Hey Jim you never stop to amazed me w/ your speed in your art works. How I wish I had that consistency and patience you've got. Mannnnn how I wish, and your works is getting better and better. At first I thought that If somebody would gave me commission drawings then I would work a little bit faster, but I think it didn't improved on my pace. Keep it up and God bless...

This drawing is looking great absolute
