Hi Everyone,
I'm glad that I'm finally able to be back to the forum with my finished elvis. After keeping elvis "the king" BALD for 4 months I have finally decided to finish it. The sad thing is as our university library is closed for next 15 days, I had to compromise with a bad scan (with one in my chem lab) which you can see below. Any comments and critiques are appreciaited. Please don't ask me "why don't you wait until the library opens and send the better image instead of giving this nightmare to us" (I was really irresistible with showing my completed drawing for your critique)

time: 20 cumulative hours (from over 4months)
paper:bristol strathmore 300 series (side with more texture)

just an aside. i ahve a black and pink velvet tapestry of this image, 3'x4' hanging on my wall. you did it great justice. might i suggest some mixed media work? felt sideburns?

Hey Stephen and Jim,
thanks for taking a look at my drawing and your kind comments. I did some paintings in water color in my childhood but nowadays I am really obsessed with carbon media(see URL to my website). Because it's the most inexpensive and effective media to render realism. I heard someone (JD??) saying it really brings out the spirit of subject with out added influence of color. Is there some thing wrong with side-burns ?? because I improvised them. They don't look in the reference.

no they are perfect. it was a joke. sorry for the confusion. in my tapestry, his hair, incl sideburns, are all felt/black velvet. its a very elvis look.

This turned out great. Good job on the shirt pattern. His hair looks nice and greasy. Actually everything is done to perfection. Where have you been? - busy working on this?
