"self portrait thread proposal"

one thing this forum is missing is self portraits. i havent done one in five years, and it would be cool for us all to see each other. if anyone has one, start up a thread, will you? ill work on one if others want to.

on the other hand, i dont want to be the only ugly mug sporting a too serious glare or a simpering grin.

I dont think anyone wants to see my ugly mug

All I know is self portraits seem harder than any others. I tried one once but not since Ive gotten alot better. Im game if anyone else is. My portait would be a 2 person one since my wife wants a picture done of both of us.

ok lets do it. ill start it next weekend. maybe others will climb on board. i think theyr not so hard. you have the benefit of a free model that has to stay as long as you need.

but there is something about drawing yourself, the temptation to fudge stuff you dont like or something. i dunno. thats why its a good exercise.

i think thats a really good idea, i was going to draw one of myself when i was a kid,..but ill have to look for one that shows the hidious monster i am now..i want to do another drawing befor i start on one...but the only pic i have right now thats any good is still about 10 years old,and doesnt really show me now.,,,so hopefully i can find something i can work with..i have a web cam..but it takes horrible pics...wich may work in my favor to hide all of my grey hair and the sharp horns on my head.

I posted a self portrait I did not so long ago, although Its probably in the archive now. I guess I actually have a head start on you guys for once
