thanks. it will be an oil paiting one day. seemingly far away.

a book? im totally unqaulified. i could write a book about my ludicrous upbringing, but thats about it. thanks though.

i agree with phil about pencil being suited for smaller size. perhaps it is just me that is not suited for smaller size.

you guys are all wonderful. ive visited many boards, but i ve never been even tempted to post before. there are a lot of genuinely helpful, and of course very very talented people. its a nice little community.

yay us.

here is where i am. i had karins head rendered, but somethng was wrong. i spent over an hour just staring at it and the photo, then my study, wondering what the hell the problem was, when it finally occurred to me to hold up the transfer sheet.

when i transferred it, my tracing paper wasnt big enough so i wasforced to transfer the heads separately. sure enough when i held up the transfers to the paper, it became very obvious that i had the angle wrong by about 1.5 mm on karin's. this created all sorts of subtle problems. but, i took out the render as best i could, just pressing a clean (for each pass) kneaded eraser over it until all thegraphite and charcol came out and retransferred it. this seems right to me.

hopefully tomorrow ill be where i was today. arrgh. torture.
