This is just to update you on this piece that I'm working on right now. I'm not trying to move away from pencils but this thing is giving me a little bit of challenge right now. I have no experience in doing water color and this is the first. Any comments, suggestions and critiques are welcome. God bless.

Wow, you say that's your first watercolor? You must have done it in a previous life or something. That is looking great.

Off subject, but has anyone out there ever considered mixing the two mediums? With the right subject and composition, a mix of water colors and the stark contrast of graphite/charcoal could be something else. Something I've actually been thinking about trying a lot lately.....

You should do more these watercolor stuff. I am amazed how well and carefully youve done all those details to the bridge. Ive done about 2 watercolor paintings in my life and I have to tell you they suck. I cant figure out how some people handle watercolors like this without mess

Wow, it's wonderful! I've tried watercolor before, and I could never do anything like this! (Mine were always quite simple and awful.) I love the dramatic contrasts. Keep us posted! (I know you have this under the watercolor board, so I'll check there, too.)

Whoa, this is amazing for someone who has no experience with watercolors. Watercolor is an extremely messy medium and difficult to manage unlike dry media. I'm really really impressed.
