"Cornelius"

Here's another on of mine. This one was a fun one. As a fan of "Planet of the Apes" this was a refreshing change from human faces.

Theres a lot of nice detail in the face with all the wrinkles. You did a real nice job on the hair also.

Very good!! That PIC is creepy. I'd hate to turn around someplace & see that ape staring back at me. I used to watched the planet of the apes.

Excellent! Drawing hair can be so tedious sometimes. It drives me nuts. This will definately look great matted and framed.
Good job!

Thanks for the comments. This one always impresses me when I look through my work because it looks more photographic than some of my stuff. I actually didn't find it to hard to do. I think having a non-human face allowed me to not have to worry quite as much about getting everything in their perfect proportions. Usually for me it's a process of drawing and measuring, and remeasuring, and correcting (I tend not to use graphs). This one just kind of fell into place, and like I mentioned earlier it was kind of fun after trying lots of difficult projects. The only thing I don't like about it is the hair at the bottom left side of his face (right as your looking) kind of faded into the shadow of his uniform in the photo. I couldn't really get it to look right in my drawing. In the photo it kind of became one even black tone, but I had a little bit of texture with the hair that wouldn't quite mesh with the texture of his outfit. I ended up just trying to blend them together.
