"Jessica Alba"

This is my latest completed drawing, I lost track of how long it took me to complete, but I guess it would've been close to 20 hours in the end. I usually draw half this big, this is on A3...
The reference pic has a grey background which wouldn't work for my drawing. I just wanted some advice on leaving it as is or perhaps putting in a dark background.

Any questions, comments are very welcome.

Cute, very cute. And so smooth!

I like the background white. I was just thinking would some texture do good to the pants? Other than that this is very close to the perfect! You really have very liquidy and smooth style, its always a pleasure to view your works

I have to add my voice to the others and agree with their comments.

It stands up very well on it's own and certainly doesn't need a background, it may even lose something if you where to put grey behind it.

Is this on Bristol Board, it looks so smooth?

I also agree with the masses. It doesn't get much better than this. I wouldn't touch a thing. Does anyone remember the character called Simon from the Captain Kangaroo show? Anything he drew would come alive. God, if that were only true.

Nicely done. I marvel at the effort you put into the clothes. The lighting looks great, too. Keep the back ground light as it really does lend towards a peaceful feeling.

I would suggest a touch more refining of the hair at the hair line. You don't have a reference pic, but I suspect that her hairline is a trace darker at the edge.

Fantastic!

Thankyou all so much. This kind of encouragement makes me want to go straight to the next project.
MHK- I think I'll look into the texture for thepants, I forget about using artistic licence and follow the source too closely sometimes.
Thanks dhesse, duke, Marc, Melissa.
Phil this is actually on 'genuine drawing cartridge' from a sketchbook you can pick up anywhere.
I think the smoothness cam mostly from the layers and layers of 2H, because it's a hard pencil it came out smooth, and the paper seemed to take a fair bit of blending.
Thanks Dave, actually I hope it doesn't come to life, we can't feed any more people in this house
Thanks JT, I'll touch up the hair line I hadn't really focussed on it too much so I'll make sure it gets a look.
Thanks Jim - I'll take a look at the website, can't resist getting my work out there.
It looks like I'll keep the background white , thanks all of you for your input.
See you soon.
