"Barred Owl - Finished?"

Here is my Barred Owl - Wip, comments please.
This is done on Bristol board with a 2b mechanical pencil and has so far taken about 15 hours.
Feel free to c&c this work.

I hope you like it, I feel this has been a great improvement from the last drawing I did, and funnily enough since I started reading and posting on this board.

This looks great!!! How did you get the eyes so dark with a 2b lead? What brand of lead did you use?

Glenn, This is excellent! I've always wanted to try something like this, but haven't yet worked up the courage. Please keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks for the comments so far, they have all been very encouraging.
The Brand of Lead used is rotring 2b lead in a 5mm Mechanical pencil. I achieved the darkness of the eyes by adding layers over the top of each other, and blanding with a tortillion, the hightlights were created by using blu-tack available from Mike Sibley's site for all you international people.

Bill from the drawings I have seen you do, you should have no problems with an owl

What I really love about this Glenn is the depth you've achieved with the bird's right eye socket. I can almost roll my finger over those curves and feel the depth. That's a great job -- I'm looking forward to seeing this progressing!

This is near completion now I thought I would post it up for some c&c.
This has taken about 15 hours so far, all done with one 2b pencil on Bristol board.
