Thanks Glen, MHK, Phil and Mark. Glen, No imediate plans for another book, but as soon as these portraits are done, I will be doing a series of articles in "The Artist's Magazine" in their Drawing Board section.
Marc, thanks but I wouldn't say flawless. If I could I would spend twice as much time on these. BTW, these are all hall of fame members in the Colorado chapter of the PGA.
Phil, This was 27hrs for both of them. I think I'm getting faster, but my money is still on Matti in the "Quick Draw" competition. I see what you mean about that eye and nose. It looks like some one punched him! I'll soften it a little. Thanks.
I'm not too fond of the curved bottom on these. They will be framed in a rectangle as you see here. There will be another mat opening under each person that will contain their bio.
The reason I did the curved bottom is because I am combining photos of people that were taken under completely different lighting conditions. These two match fairly well, but some of these will contain people outside in sun light, wearing informal clothes. I was under the impression - and it may be false, that this would sort of separate them in a way. I have combined people in portraits in the past without doing this and I always felt it looked strange having them seemingly sit next to each other with strong light from opposite sides. In this case, it may look like one guy is severly underdressed for the occation if they appear to be sitting next to each other.
I'm open for suggestions. Does anyone else have any ideas on this? Phil, Does your new double portriat have different lighting on each subject?
Thank you all again for your comments. I'm so happy you are all here and this is such an open, supportive group.
