"By George I think I've got it!"

Quick someone smack me! I don't know what I have been doing/ well not doing, but I've got or at least I think I do. I've spent a total of 8 hours so far on baby Barrett. Here is an up to date digital. I used the flash so it wasn't pink and only lost a little tone from the flash. I also am attaching the same picture but with major contrast added in photoshop.
My daughter actually walked by the drawing when I was taking a break and said she thought the face looked like a picture!!!!

THANK YOU Mark! Coming from someone with your talents I appreciate it. I havn't been one to even try the photo realistic drawing because I just "wasn't getting it" but after reading and paying attention to the recent post on different tips I think I've finally got a grasp. Hell, I would pay me for this. Oh no, fell off my soap box but hey it's been what 6 months, a year that I've been trying to improve?
I have to take a break from more work tonight because my arm has started it's jolts of burning pain. I'll do some more tom. Oh yeah, also I have not tried to rush. Most of the 8 hours was spent on the skin tones and highlights. The last hour was the cap.

What a cutie, it looks great! Smooth texture on the face, and very realistic blending. The only thing I see that maybe could use a little touch up is the eyes. They look a bit flat in the digi pic, although they may not be that way in the actual drawing. It just makes a portrait look so much more real when the eyes really pop and catch your attention. Other than that its just an awsome drawing. The hat's texture is perfect, although I've noticed that's something you've been great at all along. Can't wait to see more of this one!

Outstanding work! You are really progressing quickly. This looks almost photographic. I especially like your work on the hat. You have really nailed the textures. I can't wait to see what you do next.

The eyes are so real, it's almost creepy:P . I love the way you can achieve the texture on the hat, that is really impressive and like someone elese said, the blending lends to a really realistic smooth, baby face.
