"Yet Another Site Update"

   Hi folks -

I've been deep into HTML for several days now - I'm ready to start drawing again! There are still a few cosmetic things I want to fix, but overall, I think I have everything I want, content-wise.

Let me know what y'all think... be as critical as you want - I want it to be perfect.

Hi Robert! I liked your website, I think it looks very professional. As pointed already in your previous thread, I think the background color really accents your drawings and makes them pop. The pictures also uploaded real quick but I have cable. However in the "About the Artist" page, two of the links gave error messages (I think the "fish" and "metal detector"). -G

Btw, I live in Austin as well and love the chips & salsa at chuy's

Hi Robert, I just had a look at your site and it looks good

Quote ... be as critical as you want - I want it to be perfect.

Thanks! I will ! First, it's looking great - a good, clean design that makes your images jump out of the page and easy to navigate (theoretically - I'll come to that in a minute). I miss the rollovers on the front page. I'd like to see the images as links and when I go to click on one for the text to rollover to show me I've got a live link.

I've checked as many links as I've had time to do and found two errors in the gallery.
1. PREVIOUS on Bullet says "brisn" instead of "brian.html"
2. PREVIOUS on Jack says "girl" instead of "woman.html"

Error #3 is, for me, the worst..... none of your gallery pages allow me to return to the gallery! I'm forced to travel either Next or Previous. I can't just dip in and out. And worse... those dead links above give me nowhere to go to get back to the gallery to skip the dead link.

Mark, Ricky, Stevie,Prince,Elvis are all missing the IMG WIDTH and HEIGHT tag data - the result looks untidy.

Andy - Previous/Next text is out of alignment with other pages.

More bad news........... I hope you've got a multiple-file search and replace program? If not I can send you one (HandyFile) .......... The same error appears on all (I'm assuming as I only checked two) of your "comp" pages. "Ordering" is in normal text, not bold, because you've missed a closing ">" off the preceeding tag --
<FONT SIZE=-1 FACE=ARIAL COLOR=MAROON SPAN litUp1<STRONG>Ordering</STRONG></FONT>

This fault extends to your Feedback page.

But... That's it. I really like your site....... you've done a great job!

MIKE

   Thanks, Mike!

I wasn't aware that my front page links weren't rolling over - my Mac's version of IE doesn't show the rollovers So, I have to go by a bit of code that I know (or thought I knew) is right.... and, exactly what order do the Anchor-Font-Strong tags need to be in in order for the links to change color? And is there an easier way to write that without using style sheets (which I'm not ready to do just yet...) Also, I have noticed that on some of the links, the TEXT is maroon, but the UNDERLINE isn't - how can I fix that?! these little things are driving me friggin' crazy!

I'll go back in in a minute and resolve the dead links and fix the navigation on the gallery pages - thanks for catching that - I'm so brain dead right now I'm amazed there aren't more...

And yes, I do have a program that lets me do multiple search/replace functions - in, fact, I can open up ALL of my files at one time and change them with one keystroke (it's called Tex-Edit , for the Mac)...

I have been using an OLD OLD version of Adobe PageMill to layout my pages, but here lately I've found that good old SimpleText (like NotePad) is the best thing to use - and, it FORCES me to learn the code myself... PageMill doesn't recognize a lot of the 4.0 tags, so I have to resort to jumping back and forth to IE to check things.... and with close to 70 pages, geez, it's taking me FOREVER to get everything right... (maybe if I had more DRAWING WORK, I wouldn't be so anal about it!

Thanks for the help, chief, I owe you one! If *I* can answer any questions for YOU, please let me know!
