"The kids finished"

Here is the finished double portrait. I have made my son too dark in it but can't change that now. My husband said it is very good so I sprayed it a left it. I went back this morning a saw a million things I would change but I'm not going to. I'm ready to start the next piece. Let me know what you all think... honostly! That way I can improve next time. I still have a tough time with people portraits but hey, each one is a learning experience!

Hi Steph

I think the nose is too short and the mane should be on the other side

Oops wrong thread.

Very nice job and it was a pleasure watching it develop.

Thanks you guys. One thing I noticed with the scan is that my son looks like a ventrilliquest (not sure on spelling) puppet. I looked again at the original and it doesn't look anything like that. I'll take a digital picture in the morning and see if it shows more of a true example of the drawing. I'm taking a few days off and then I'll be back at it. I'll post a step by step on my next work.

Hi Steph,

I think you did a great job with the portrait....there is one thing that stands out to me and that is....your daughter looks a little flat....maybe it's just the scan though.

I tried getting a better shot with my digital, what do you think? The pictures are a funny color because I took them in the house with only the kitchen light. They are on white Bristol board.

This PIC is wonderful!!! I would tell you to add darker tones/values to your drawing. For instance, you could go darker where the girl's hair is next to the neck. Correct me if I'm wrong. It may also be the scan. Don't be afraid of darker values. It makes objects pop out.
