That's a really sharp looking site. I think the colors work really well together. I also like the way your images change on the first page. How did you do that if you don't mind (Java Script possibly)?

I only saw one thing that you might want to change. When I clicked on a couple of the images for enlargement they were a little blurry.

Hi Robert

Just check the latest update of your site. The home page is nice, but it took a long time to load for me...couple of minutes @ 28.8.

Second time I went back it was faster, but I think it was due to the pictures being cached on my system from the first time.

Other than that, it looks real good.

Congrats on the winning of the drawing event.

Bob

Greetings from Delaware

Yeah, I figured some people would have a little lag time, but you have to draw the bar somewhere between a nice looking site and a quick loading one. My site statistics don't show me the connection speed of the people that visit my site, I wish it did. I may combine the three animated pics into one - two kids, two animals, two couples, something like that, so there's only one image instead of 3.

Those are animated gif images, by the way - easy to make with a simple little freeware program I found on the net. Gifs are usually smaller than jpegs, but the way gifs are represented on a users screen is dependant on how many colors their monitor is set on. A jpeg doesnt work like that - I usually use jpegs for the images of my drawings.

Anyway, blah blah, yadda yadda! Thanks for the input!

Now that's looking much more professional! I had a problem in that the index page took four minutes to load (actually I gave up after 4 minutes as it still had 3 items to go). Although I appreciate why you want to use you slideshow display, I think it's wasted. Either folk will get fed up waiting and go elsewhere or they'll just click on link before the page has loaded. Either way no-one without a broadband connection is going to see your handiwork.

I changed my mind and waited - it took 6 minutes to load before your animated GIFs animated.

I liked the old green colour but I like this much more. It gives real punch to the white of your images and stretches the perceived tonal range.

Your rollovers are operating on KIDS and PEOPLE making them look like links when they aren't. Personally I'd make them links to your gallery (include the image and text in the <A> tag).

If you are using rollovers you ought to use them throughout. The "Woman 2002" page (the only one I checked) doesn't rollover on Previous or Next, which are still default blue.
Change <A HREF="man.html">Previous</A> to
<A class="page" HREF="man.html">Previous</A>

then in your <style> tags add....
a.page {color:maroon}
a.page:hover {colour:yellow)

That will cure for IE4+ and NS6 and (Opera I think).

It's looking great!

I agree with Mike (this is becomming too much of a habbit ) I thought the rollovers under the three anims would be a link.

I think you you did them as links it would a good way into the rest of the site as most people will automatically click on them.

Gotta go, the boss is looking at me kinda funny!

I agree with Mike and Phil about the titles under the pics. It would be good if they were links to 3 different pages. (The thumbnails would load faster on those pages, too, which would be especially good once you add more pictures to it.)
The site takes a long time to load for me, too, but we have a really slow computer. The images seem like collages by how slowly they load here! And now that the kids section is loaded, it flashes really fast and goes back to stay on your son for a while, which doesn't look very professional. The other ones work.
The whole page does look a lot more professional, though - I like the title with the pencil. Great job, overall!

Yeah.... *sigh* I'm going back to static images on the front page... I thought about making a splash page to let users choose broadband or dialup, but I thought against it.

I may also make the front page pics links - that was just an oversight on the yellow stuff... I appreciate all of your input!
