"Back In The Saddle Again"

Well, everyone, I'll try this again. The first few posts here and some other ones on the "Drawing Portfolio" section got whacked somehow.

Anyways, here are my latest attempts at getting back in the portrait game after many years off and am now getting requests to do this for actual money! Imagine it! Doing something that turns the hours of "work" into VAPOR!

Hi Vickie,

Thanks and yes, indeed it is great to be able to get paid for drawing!

Btw, each one of the finished pieces above were done on a 11x14" 100# Bristol, using 4H to 6B pencil.

Also, what resolution does everyone else use for scanning, also, how do you avoid the glare from the darkened in areas? I've set the scanner for "photo glossy" and for "original artwork" .....doesn't seen to avoid the glare problem. Makes the work look weird in a couple placers, as compared to the originals.

Thanks,

Geary

Thanks Donna,

I visited your site. I like your style, too. I suppose all of us has an adorable story to go along with the "adorable" drawings. The bride and boy are sister and brother of one of my best friends. These had these two 22 years apart! My wife and I are delivering the work to her in a couple of weeks as a late birthday gift for her.

The older man is my late Grampa. He was my hero.

Cheers,

Geary

You capture expressions, and bring out beauty...'love 'em all!

The bride, and boy is very Norman Rockwellish (- the color)...adorable.
