I welcome any constructive critisism. Please excuse the quality of the scan. I can't tell you how long this took, probably close to 20 hours(if not more). I took my time. So far I think it's my best piece. There are more at my web site.

Excellent blending work here! Maybe you could still make it more dynamic by using more dark tones where needed?
Hey Sonny. First up, great job! I think babies are so tough to draw. Their softness makes it really tough to capture a likeness, most baby portraits look "lumpy" to me. This one looks really good! Props to you!!
Hi Sonny, Welcome onboard. Great drawing, babies are tough. The pupils seem a bit dark for the rest of the portrait, But your over all picture is great.

Good job! I've never drawn a baby, so I don't know how difficult they are, but I'm sure they would be rather hard. One thing I noticed is that the eyes don't seem to have lines in the center going out, if you know what I mean...the round part looks totally smooth, without any "spokes." (Sorry, I don't know the correct name for them.) I think everone has those in their eyes. Anyway, great job overall!

Ditto!! I think Melissa is talking about the iris. She described it very well. Toby
I like it dark. It's on a wall now, but when I was working on it I was so afraid I'd screw it up If I tried to go to dark. I see now that I should have put the iris lines in, oops! If I work on a drawing too long I start to loose intrest in it and I hurry to get it to a stopping place. I noticed in some of the step by step pics of other peoples drawings that they tend to just about finish each section before moving on to the next. I work on the entire drawing from light to dark, level by level. Is this incorrect?

Robert, have you tried this ebony black with other pencils? Does it blend well together with other brands? I now you dont blend much, but whatdyathink? -- Sonny, I work the same way as you. I believe it works fine, overall tonal balance is important and I think thats one way it can be achieved well. Of course itd be a good idea to make certain tonal checkpoints onto eyes for example to get darkest value as reference to other tonal changes on a face (hope you understand what I mean).
btw, those stylish frames around the pics on your site are cool... I just dont understand how they are coded, I tried to look at the source but it gave me no answer..
