thats a very good question vicklyn,and also something i had and still do have a lot of trouble with,cause i was doing the same thing as you...i was use to adding the graphite the way i would add it without blending...and i would add about a gallon too much,....so i eased off of it quite a bit,.....its amazing how far just a tiny bit of graphite can go...or how much shading you can do with a blender that just barely seems dirty,......i was very discouraged at 1st,but its getting easier now that i have started adding the graphite gradually instead of as much as i think should be there all in one shot,......also just as an experiment have you tried using a small brush and powder graphite for the light shading?.....i just started combining that with the solid pencil..and i like it a lot. www.geocities.com/woodart211 |
