"Bride Finished!! Posted new scan."

Size 14X17.
Graphite and Charcoal.
70 hours to complete.

OK, first off, sorry about the quality, I had to use my digital camera on this one. I'll try to scan it tomorrow at work, I'll have to do it in four pieces and merge them all together. I couldn't capture all the detail in the dress with my camera, the embroidery was intense I really felt overwhelmed at times. Deadlines!!

I so glad this is done!!

Peace!

Nice to see you marc with your completed drawing. Excellent job Marc. I liked the way how you rendered the roses and hair. It must have demanded a lot of time and patience. With the embroidery also Nice work. I'm eager to see the scanned drawing. I just learnt how to combine different scans. I did that with my aishwarya drawing and posted under srivarey's drawings. I also have an opporunity to experiment with lace in my "Frida Kahlo" drawing. In the christmas holidays I'll come back to the forum with some stuff.

bestwishes,
srivarey

Marc,
Did you do any special technique with the embroidery? ...... the whole drawing looks fantastic

The hair & the roses look great. I've seen your previous post of the lace, since I can't tell from this PIC, & that looked terrific as well. Toby

Thanks all!

srivarey! Great to hear from you.

Hey Bella!
The embroidary I could have easily spent another 20 hours on, But I had to finish it because it's a christmas gift. I drew almost all of it with a tortillion, and then an H pencil to draw in the little threads around the edge. the pearl inlay i used an H pencil blended with a tortillion and used a electric eraser to get the little highlight at the top. Loads of fun!!

Hey Toby. I wasn't sure if I would be delivering this portrait today so that's the reason for the crappy pic. I will try to post close-ups tomorrow.

You did an exceptional job!.........what is an electric eraser

The roses are amazing, I'm fasinated by them......I can't help coming back to this post to look at them

You've inspired me to go get myself a bunch of roses to study now........

Good job Marc!

I think you earned ever penny of the price you charged, I bet it was more than a relief when you finished it though. I was wondering if at any point started to waver and lose interest after so long on the same drawing, I think I probably would.

Looking forward to the close up scans.

Phil

You did an exceptional job!.........what is an electric eraser

Hey Bella. Electric eraser: This little tool has a eraser head and spins as fast as you apply pressure to the trigger, It's one of my favorite tools, it really "pops" highlight area's. I sharpen the eraser to a pencil point tip and use it that way. Example: On all the pearls I used it for the little round highlights. You can get a battery operated one for $10.00.

Absolute: No powder here. Chamois and tortillion blending.

Hey Phil!! Great to hear from ya.

I have to admit this piece was really trying for me. I had a deadline of the first week of December and there were times when I thought maybe I bit off more then I could chew. I started this piece two months ago! I certainly had a huge smile on my face spraying that final fix!! I was so siked to be done I jump right into my next piece just happy to be drawing something different!!!

Thanks all!!

Marc Forest.
