"Equine Comm WIP"

Hi guys,
I have been working on this for the last few hours. I was going to start it a few days ago but couldn't find the "umph" anyway let me know what you think so far. The pictures are not very good because the 11x14 (and this fills the whole page) won't fit on my scanner bed so I took digitals of it. They are fuzzy and have a weird tint but you get the idea.
The first picture was the start and I sent the owner this to see if I was getting his face to have the "look" she wanted captured. This is what she mailed back:
**I had the worst morning... and that just made me smile and cry at the same time. He is so so beautiful...(I tell him that daily.)

THANK YOU.**

BTW, for you horse people out there, Arthur is a rescued Arabian who is a very young 20 something and healthy as a, well... Ox.

Hey Steph, the drawing is coming along beautifully!

You have caught the spirit of that horse. It's beautiful!! What is that on your drawing paper/board right above the horse? Toby

For those who are wondering about the clip on my board and the white thing it is a piece of felt. I noticed after a few drawings that the clip would leave a gouge in the bristol board. So now I roll a little square of felt and keep that as a cushion. Work to the wise though, this felt HAS to be changed because the dust from graphite or charcoal builds on it and then can leave marks which causes a whole new set of problems.

Steph

Hey Steph,
Remember that article in the artists magazine that you mentioned a while back (taming charcoal)?
Well, today....while I was at an art shop getting one of those really cool electric erasers that Marc mentioned
I found a copy!!...it made my day!

Man, the detail in her drawings are amazing, and when I saw that she gave tips, I was so happy!
