I just had a look at your site.....it looks good....I didn't have any probs with it before...but....it is an improvement

I think your new start page shows a good variety,but i like the one you done of keaton better then the one of pumpkin,to show a childs portrait...i think thats important because almost everyone wants their kids done....unless they know you can draw pets,

for some reason when people see a drawing that someone did they assume that the person can only draw that subject, wich is rediculous because ive seen people draw their 1st portrait on this site and they do even better then their favorite subjects.

BTW...if you are into metal detecting..back when i was in arizona with some friends and family,,,we done some panning for gold and also ran a metal detector over some old mines....only found gold dust...but it was a blast,drank a lot of beer ate a lot of hot dogs.

Well done JL. So you are the 5th best portrait artist in the world! Not bad at all. And congrats to Robert of course.

BTW, the site is lots of better now, except I dont like that background color so much.

That's a geat improvement Rob! I especially like the three images that immediately show the breadth of your interests. Later, when your single gallery page gets a bit crowded, you will be able to split it into three and make your three images into very suitable gallery links.

The only thing that bothers me (he said - craftily moving his reply from the old thread to this one) is your use of default link colours. They work fine but if you want a professional look then I believe that attention paid to detail pays off. That link again was
http://www.sibleyfineart.com/_rob/page.htm for an example.

I'm not going to repeat myself except to say..... look below and to the right and pass your mouse (hover) over the forum's links. You'll see CSS in action - in this case no colour change just the introduction of an underline on hover. That's all that's needed to say "you're on target and the link is live". It just adds that finishing touch.

Also the blue link borders around your gallery thumbnails - format this by CSS to ...

a {color:#000000}

and they'll all turn black and stay black (or whatever colour you choose).

Great job! Well worth the effort!!

MIKE
