Ok, so I didnt add very much here since the last post. Basically I just checked out the tonality, add some depth etc. I had to resize the jpeg smaller to fit 70kb, so most of the details I added are not shown here, which is pity.I thought I would share some technique stuff with you what I found very handy during this drawing session (somebody asked it from me earlier):
1. Blending: Nothing new here. The basecolor on the skin was made on HB. 2b, 3b, 4b and 8b was used for dark tones. Nessu-tissue was used all the time everywhere. No erasers in the beginning.
2. Erasing: I used Blu-tack (wall putty) to the skin to achieve "old" look. If I was drawing a kid I wouldnt use it so. Penol film eraser was also used.
3. Highlites: I found Blu-tack extremely useful. The iris on the eyes were highlited using it (it lets light to "shine" through it nicely, probably not seen on jpeg) And for the "final touch" this blu-tac is excellent, especially on the skin.
4. Tonality: I added in this post also this very same jpeg with much more contrast. As you can see, it still remains "realistic". I believe if it wouldnt, neither the actual drawing wouldnt.
But because I am just a novice here, I give no more tips
Maybe JDs book is full of those tips (maybe I would buy it if was available here but its not, though)
Feel free to comment. If somebodys interested in buying it, let me know
