"My Attempt"

Ok, this is my first posting, so hello to you all. I know it is not very good, but I am hopefully improving everytime.
It was done on ordinary cartridge paper and just an 2B Pencil.

So let me have your comments.

Hey Glenn,
Welcome to the forum

I like the drawing!. I have just studied the anatomy of cat's.(cheetah's and Lion's). But haven't been game enough to start

Hi Glenn! I think it looks great so far, animals are hard for me, the fur is incredibly hard to make look realistic. Hope to see an update soon!

Great drawing Glenn! Proportions, values and linework are all right there! I have so far been afraid to attempt animal fur - with the exception of some how-to exercises in one of Gene Franks' books. Keep it up and keep on posting.

Don't be so hard on yourself! I too, am very critical of my own work, and to a certain point I think it is a good thing because it drives me to do better and better. But you need to be able to appreciate the fruit of your labor. Otherwise you are missing out on some of the most rewarding aspects of drawing (for me anyway). Give yourself credit where credit is due.

Thanks Chris and Bill for your comments, they have made me feel that it is not so bad as I thought it was.
I will keep trying, and I'll try not to be critical of myself.

thats a great drawing glen,...and also something that i need to practice...animal furr close ups really scare me away ,one of these days i want to try one.,and actually finish.
