"Alright, I'll Do it!!"
Hello fellow artists!! Well, after looking at all of the great work here I decided to pull my drawings out of the closet (litterally). These were done 4-5 years ago. I apologize for the quality of the pics. I took pics of the drawings with my digital camera versus scanning them in manually. My scanner hates black and white images....I live on the Outer Banks of NC, so lighthouses and maritime subjects tend to be my favorite subjects. I've recently been motivated to take up my art again after having come across J.D. Hillberry's website. Let me know what you guys think. You guys will probably notice that at the time of these drawings, I hadn't discovered the whole blending idea. I had always wondered how other pencil artists achieved the smooth textures. Now I know. On the topic of portrait drawing. I've got a 4 year old little girl, and I can't wait to see what I can do with her pictures!!!

Boy, my pics are small. Sorry everyone. I could swear other posts have been larger...hmm...

Tony, Althought they are small they are great. I LOVE the light house. Can't wait to see your portraits.

Tony, the lighthouse and the ships are great! I especially like the bottom ship with all the detail you can see even from the small pic.

that is some great work,...that lighthouse reminds me of my hometown, we had one too,.but nothing that fancy....is that a ww--II pilot?

Hi absolute, Yes, I believe I got that pic out of a WWII aviation photography book. The drawing looks a lot better up close. All of those drawings above are on 8 x 11 or so paper.
