"Nearly, Maybe or nowhere near finished?"

Hi to all again. It's been a while since I last asked for advice but things are always hectic so it's taken till now to get this perishing dog anywhere at all. A few problems on the way! Hopefully it won't look a total disaster and needing a makeover.
I have been reading the posts but everyone seems to favour drawing portraits at this time so I was doing a bit of hairpulling for a while.
The dark under her chin is the lead that isn't finished yet and I haven't placed a background either yet but I think I needed some feedback first. That or a break!

That does look very good! You should be happy with it, though I know I'm very perfectionist about my work. I don't think it should have anything much in the background; the contrast of a white bg against the darks looks good. Were you planning to put something else in the background (like scenery, or another animal, or something)?
Keep up the great work!

Thanks Melissa for the kind comments. I'm not sure about the background yet, when I get there it will be a good feeling. I've looked at your work before and felt you have something really special so I appreciate your comments. Sooner or later I'll get there.

I agree the dog is gorgeous though at times I haven't always looked at it that way.
Thanks for your comments.
