"My best shot so far"

Hi all!

Some time ago I replied to the "cheat"-topic about using a grid. Since then I have changed my mind... I do not know much about drawing, but I decided to take a try. So here is my first "gridded" drawing, and I must admit that gridding helps! I used it very lightly, but eye/nose/mouthconfigurations seem to be somewhat more right than sometimes before. I also bought some quality papers and darwents, so now I can blame only on myself if drawings suck

The girlīs still the same that in my earlier post a few weeks ago(donīt get bored yet ) I am seeking for fresh models in my projects, thought.

This is just a part of the picture (due to max 70Kb limit). Some details are still lost
Comments please! I really do not know whatīs up

This is really excellent, so was the first one but like Jim said this one is a smoother, probably more accurate picture, of your sister I think you said. It's just great, I can't say much more, it's great

Very good MHK. One thing I see that could be improved is the hard outline around the hands. Especially the fingers of her right hand. Instead of the dark line around each one, try letting the value differences between the fingers seperate them. They will end up looking much more natural.
This is better than your first attempt in many ways. Keep it up.

Thanks to Jess, absolute and JD for the comments. I appreciate them very much.

JD, this "linething" comes up probably from my background. I am used to draw "tattoostyle" with strong outlines and bold forms (especially seen here on hair). So I try behave myself next time I draw "photorealistic".

So far I have drawn 3 or 4 photorealistic pictures in my life. I am very excited about the next attempt.. maybe completed tomorrow I hope

You also do tattoo's?...cool...there is only one shop for tattoos in my hometown,he has a monopoly on the whole business for miles... the guy is good but he isnt as good as you are.,..i dont think i could get into skin as a medium, but there sure does seem to be VERY good money in it....when i see that guy riding around town on his almost brand new harley, you can tell he thinks he is the best artist in the world...id love to see someone with your talent set up a shop right next door to him...he would surely have to start working for his money,..if it didnt cause him to close his doors altogether .
keep up the great work.
id like to see more of your realistic work.

Absolute: no I dont do tattoos anymore. I sold the set when I ran out of money Tattooing is more difficult than it seems to be.. you have to make compromises between realism and line-style to achieve a piece that lasts more than 3days...
