"Bride (WIP) Roses!"

I've been so enjoying all the work in progress posts that I decided to do the same. This is a commission drawing I've been working on.
I've got about 25 hours into it, charcoal and graphite on arches paper. The shadows really plugged in on the scan the original is not nearly as dark in her hair. I still have some facial work to do and couple hours on her neck back and pearls and then it's off to the roses and lace dress.

Peace!

Looking forward to the next installment.

I think this drawing is looking great but........the right eye (our left) just doesn't look right to me. I don't know if it's the shading or the perspective......or maybe it's just me

This looks really good Mark.
You will have a good time with the lace. It's not as hard as people think. You basically render the holes and the lase magically appears.
I'd like to see a close up of the lace when you get started.

Thanks for the comments all.

Bella, your correct about her right eye, I can't seem to nail it. If you look at the original it's kinda the same. It looks like she has a lazy eye. It's Driving me CRAZY!!!! I'll have to try to rework it!

The lace will be a real treat, JD is correct I'll be rendering most of that with a very sharp Tortillion with some Graphite on the tip. Negative drawing!!!

Any other comments Welcome!

Wonderful work. You must be very patient to have chosen a subject with so much lace! I have a suggestion regarding the eye... I think you did nail it. My reaction is that it has more to do with softening the contrast on the muscles above the corner of her lips and under the eyebrow (same side). Pushing back that side of her face by changing the degree of contrast may then diminish that which is, in fact, less flattering to her in the photo itself. Make sense? Or not.

Thanks so much Litadawn for the critique, it's right on! Sometimes you stare at something for so long it becomes a blur. I see exactly what you mean.

thanks again
