Thanks for the link. I dug through my pencil drawer and found Generals, Bernard Faber Koal Blaks, Ritmos, but no Wolfs. I'll try them.
I also found a favorite charcoal pencil that I used beyond brand recognition. It doesn't look to be Wolfs, but then it's at least ten years old so the branding may have changed. Do you recognize it? (That was a painful lesson; always stockpile the brands I love.)

Sorry, It doesn't look familiar. BTW, Wolffs just makes a carbon pencil, not a charcoal that I know of. In my opinion, these carbon pencils are like a cross between charcoal and graphite. It may take some getting used to, but give it a chance. They make some "h" hardnesses but they are two hard for my taste. Stick to b,2b,4b,6b.
Good Luck,
J. D.

Hi Lita..
Glad you've joined the forum.. I've enjoyed your work immensely, ever since I first saw that portrait of the five children on 1art.com..

And then I was blown away when I went to your site.. That one and your "Pioneer Square" are my favorites.. Makes one forget they are looking at a drawing, and you don't even notice that they are "black and white"..

Looking forward to reading more of your posts and learning from what you put up here..

Thanks,

Mark

Lita Dawn, I've seen and enjoyed your web-site quite a long time ago. I love your drawings! The one of the cat is superb, as are all the others! I really like the rich darkness of the charcoal, too. I've just started using charcoal, used along with graphite, and I like it pretty much. It does get a lot darker than graphite, which is good. ...Your drawings are amazing! It's good to have you here!
