Excellent drawing, Geary.

I was a little concerned at first about the face and the lack of definition in the back. Now I can see that the back is just as it should be - indistinct and not drawing attention to itself. My worries about the face are more to do with the dog's lack of markings than your drawing - so I can live with that

It's an almost perfect natural pose. I like the way that the girl's left arm takes the eye through her body to the point of contact. And the way that facial shadows again direct the eye to the same point.

The only criticism I have is that, for me, her slippers are too dark. Being the strongest tone in the piece, whenever my eye goes to the kiss the slippers pull my eye down. I find them distracting. If you had lowered their value to something like the body of the dog I don't think this would occur.

There's a lot that I admire in this drawing.

MIKE

Thank you Master Sibley,

Since this is not a commission piece, and I plan to sell prints of it and/or use it in my examples portfolio, I have it forever at my command. So, I agree with your exam and have made an adjustment to the slippers tone. The slippers were just a bit of contention with me from the start. As you can see, she was movin those feet about the time of the happy "convergence" and not only were they blurred , I have no idea as to the exact placement of her left foot. Half of the little fingers of her hand were "made up" as well.

Feel sorry for me..... at all on that? I didn't think so......LOL

Thanks again bro,

Geary
