Thanks Kev,I've always been in a fast-paced art world, well.....graphics world. Thirty years as a sign/graphics maker really pushed me all the time. But, I figure that when you consider , as in this piece, the dog is only 4 inches tall.....it's shouldn't take as long as it would when working with bigger pieces, 'cause, bigger means you can actually see every little hair. This size gives way to doing "suggestions" of hair and shapes rather than drawing every thread. Two of my other pieces on JD's area took me 15 hours or so each. Plus, there's always been the thing with me that at a certain point, right after all the shapes have been shaded and proportions established......the drawing just seems to draw itself. Does anyone else get that mode? I call it like when I'm playing in our band, "when the music happens", there's this ThinG that just sort of takes over and the extensions of the body become one with the piece.
Oh, crap, I just sounded exactly like I did when I thought I was a Hippie, back in the 60s/70s.
