"Basset Hound"
I ran across this little fellow in a book.I wish now I would have used a larger size paper so I could have drawn his body.Please let me know what you think. vickie

Lovely dog and a lovely drawing, Vickie. How long did this one take you and what size is it?
I learned the "I wish the paper was bigger" lesson a long time ago so now I always draw in the centre of a minimum A1 sheet (that's about 18" x 24") so I can expand is necessary or shift the centre.
BTW - nice nose detail..... never the easiest of things to draw.
i really REALLY like this drawing!...ive never owned one of these but i think they have a very cool laid back attitude. what paper did you use for this one? cant wait to see more.

Thank you Mike,Kevin,and Jim...the measurements of the drawing are roughly around 6x7"on the medium weight Strathmore 300..an 11x14 sheet of paper.I have been working with this paper since I started as I like the texture.The nose Mike,I have only you to thank for my improvement.I have studied your helpful instructions over and over .This pic took me about 8 hours of drawing time over a three day period.I wanted to rush it with each stroke of the pencil but I made myself lay it down and rest it.I'm glad I did.He looks so "cool and laid back". Thanks guys. vickie
