"Cats whiskers"

As promised Mike, some Furry

This is my first time at that stuff J thank god I didn’t include the body,
Canson smooth Bristol board, mostly b2 graphite, Pierre Noire conti b3 charcoal for pupils, drawing time about 4 Hours
The drawing is 8 x 7 inches on an A4 size page

Very nice work!
I am a big fan of the "up close and personal" style. It forces you to get it right or it is very obvious when it is not.
Good Job, I'd like to see more of your work but your link won't work for me.

Wow! This is wonderful! Love the composition.....and those eyes! I really like Canson bristol, and also Utrecht bristol.

Great drawing Colin. I really like how the fur looks. I tried doing a picture of a cat last nite and Im really bad at doing fur. Id like to see a step by step tutorial of someone doing realistic fur sometime. I just cant seem to draw fur without trying to draw every single hair. And when I do that it just comes out bad.

Id like to know how you did the Iris of the eye I tried last nite but couldnt get the right texture for it.

I'm with you on that Avantar, I'd love to see a step by step tutorial on drawing fur. My attempts turn out to be just a series of lines that look vaguely like fur if I'm lucky - very discouraging. In viewing other posts in this forum, there is mention of negative drawing which I can kind of understand but putting this technique into practice is a whole other thing, I just can't seem to grasp it.

Only 4 hours!!??? wow...

I especially love the eyes, so expressive and so realistic - almost like next thing you know this cat's gonna turn and look at you!
