"Paintings"

Wanted to show a couple paintings and see if anyone would critique them, I just started my painting class this year. Only thing is the ones I have are accrylic and I couldn't find a section for that, so I posted in the closest one. Let me know what you think. the first one is just a fairy and the 2nd is called Love Spell

i cant critique the 2nd one because it is more of a bunch of crawings with paint over them.

the first one is very cool. it reminds me a little of gaughin. the background color doesnt suit the subject as best as it could, in my opinion. i would have used green, without the modulation. the modulation makes the subject of the painting appear too flat. keep your backgrounds in the background. also, the halo makes it appear a bit like a religious painting, which it isnt. generally, the background should be darker on the light side of the face.

why green? dunno. thats just my instinct. but not ultramarine. purple, green, warm grey earth, umber. darker, too.

seriously, though, its cool.
