mr antonov,i bought the teaching zone for the still life. in the hour or so it took me to flip through it, it solved several problems i've had with my oil paintings. you've saved me hours, and the lives of many inncoent paintbrushes.
i'm not sure that knowlede is available outside of europe anymore. at least i haven't been able to find it. freely, i mean. ok, i guess 25 bucks wasnt free, but still, pretty close.
im going to scrap many works in progress and start them over. its not a total loss, as i solved the compositional and draftsmanship issues already, so i can get right to the application of y0ur techniques. ill start with one simple still life and a head study. if the head study goes well, i may try your techniques out large scale.
one question. you are blending with fingers...with flake white?
also, along those lines, why wouldnt one use flake white as a prime, rather than the gesso/paste combo. drying time?
thanks/spaseebo bolshoi
