"My new portofilo"

Hello, it's me - Saida Fagala with my new works.

I call these series "Shells and corals".
As always pocelain, my favorite. I was excited to work with colored porcelain, using the body stains. I prefer to work with porcelain because I love the translucency and brilliance .
Some works have been painted before firing, then glazed and fired in an electric kiln. I used some lusters to emphasize the shape and color.
I also made my own stamps to decorate the works, which all have been made by a hand build technique. It was pretty hard to keep this kind of free shape, so I used some support and very soft clay.
I look for personality in each vessel, my work combines elements of grace and beauty, free shape and bright color.
In my portfolio you'll see some works made from terra-cotta clay, I love this clay because of the color and the plasticity, and I like to use it to show the beauty of terracotta .It's also inspired me to create some shapes using the old traditions, keeping the primitve look.My terracotta vases are very light in weight, I used a minimum clay and color, paying more attention to the shape.
Welcome to my world))

7. "Terracotta bottle"

Here again, one of my favorite geometric shapes, this bottle is slab built, and coiled, then decorated with some lines and patterns.
I made it look simple, leaving the leather like texture and adding some color to the sides, to emphasize the form.
The bottle was decorated and fired to cone 05, then painted with lusters and fired to cone 019.

10. "Blue doll"

I used to make a lot of ceramic dolls in late 80 is, and this one is my new version, it's a wheel thrown piece, little bit altered and decorated with coils and details.Once again I painted it with my favorite stain, cobalt. After two firings I added a little gold and lusters to accentuate the shape.
