Paintings can be very sensitive, you just cant put any substance on them and hopes works out fine. I think you underestimate the problems and the risk you are taking if you want to do it yourself. A painting is not a consumer produkt, and thus canot be treatet that way.
Searg for an expert, a good expert, because lots of people or artists think they can do the job, while there are more likel to damage your painting than to clean it. Oh yeah, if you let it clean, don't make them to put an oil varnish on it, this wil destroy your work. Damar varnish is better.
