"Oil Painting Landscape - Crtique"

   Hi All,

I have recently switched to oil paints from acrylic i am enjoying it but finding it a challenge in some cases.

Here is a painting inspired by a photo at the bottom of this page: http://www.chiangmai1.com/chiang_mai/mae_rim_3.shtml

At the moment i havent really added in any detail i am just trying to get the depth happening with the hills in the background, i have painted them again and again but i just can seem to get the right, i dont know whether i should just continue on down into the front and add the detail in which will then push the hills back ???

Comments, suggestions, hints/ tips will be greatly appreciated. I find it hard how to do the detail also.

If you want to achieve depth, LIGHTEN THE HILLS UP!
