"housekeeping your brushes while painting"

I discovered a neat way to keep brushes organized, separated, accessible, and ready-to-use. Get some children's modeling clay - the real kind, not the plastic kind. Use a little pressure and it sticks to your desk or table (which is adjacent to your easel). Place your brushes - handle end down - into the modeling clay. You can organize them - say, paint brushes to the left, correcting brushes in the middle, fluffy brushes to the right. It keeps your brushes off the table and keeps the colors separate.

hey, i was just having a quick look from over on the drawing forums..., I reckon this tip will work well for pencils as well! I'm gonna try it, as I am sick of the pencils rolling off the drawing board!
thanks.
