"panel preparation vs canvas"

please outline the steps that your techinique would require to prepare a panel, vs a canvas, including sizing (glue sizing) if necessary, #of gesso coats, etc. i am in the middle of the drawing phase, so i want to start getting the panel redy. my surface is postivle satin smooth (ive snaded it a millio times)oak panel, 3/8 thick.

also, if there are other things to know, about any variations in imprimatura, for panel, i would like to know that too.

also, where can i get lavender oil? no stores near me have it. even aromatherapy has only lavender oil as an ingredient of other perfumy mixtures.

also, do i still need to use rounded razor blade between cots, or is sandpaper ok on panel?
